Hi,

I'm not sure if I should be proud of announcing this, after all, you are the one who must say if this is a worth piece of art or a useless piece of crap.

Anyways, here we go. This is an exclusive launcher that will be used within Retro-Mod, (check http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?p=2062165), with new background image, buttons and music (a "remix" I've done for all of those who grew up watching the old movies trilogy, and all others who just had the pleasure of getting born to see them all ;)). Hopefully it shows what I've in mind for the project and how well or weird it can be done.

I know that there are launchers out there and so on, but please check out this one.

I'm sorry about the quality of the screenshots, for some reason, the nice guys behind Google Pages decided that images should be in JPG format, but they seem also to be using a lossy converter and quality gets affected. Original format was PNG.

Available at:

May get in LucasFiles soon as well.

Enjoy!

Thanks!
I hope I can get some more music done for the other Retro-Mod parts, like Cantina and such. Non released music, to make it at least more fresh. I guess I'll start working on some more stuff for the game. I really don't like some of the "themes". They get really boring during the game, and for some reason, they don't have the effect (just in my opinion) that they should. In some places, the music is the key to let the player become "part" of the game ;)

As the graphics are great, in combination with good music, it can rock the house.

Be very, very careful about using music and any other possibly copywrited media materials in a mod. They are illegal to freely distribute.

Like if you took the Imperial March by John Williams and wanted to use it in your TSL Mod for a battle with an NPC that would be illegal, personal use is fine, but you cannot distribute them... sad but true. :(

But your laucher is very pretty! :D

Right, although it's stated in COPYING.txt, as well as the conditions in which it's distributed. Anyways, it's a ~10 seconds sound clip. Anyone else has ever contacted LucasArts asking for legal-related issues? I would be pleased of letting them know about it and other mod-related contents before giving out releases.

In any case, giving the credit to those who own the copyright is what I always do and will do (regarding other art work and images not done by myself). It also helps to say that in no way there's profit interest on the mod.

Cheers and thanks for the advice ;)

Hmm, strange. (Double)-checked it and works well. Could you try again? Maybe you suffered some kind of "side-effects" due to Google Pages activity (it's beta, and they change stuff, I guess). I'm still waiting for LucasFiles to host it and pcgamemods.com upload form doesn't work.

Cheers.

[edit 1]
I've uploaded it to another location, it's not the best place, but it works until
it becomes available on another site: http://www.filefactory.com/?244590)
You could just make it available through P2P (ie. eDonkey networks, Bitorrent...). For the latter, please ensure that checksum (use a md5 or sha-1 hash) from my site's executable, is the same as the one you're downloading.

What do you mean? Details on licensing are available on the COPYING.txt file. Modifications of the launcher are welcome but I think that better you could help and work together with me on some other stuff for Retro-Mod. I'm seeking people interested on working on the quest that involves Vader ;). BTW, what should be improved within the launcher?

Maybe I can upload the "source" files for some stuff (buttons and background images in XCF format for use within Gimp, like Photoshop PSD) but I don't see the point.

Cheers.

I had no problems with filefactory but I still cannot download the complete file from your site.
