Well i mean you can extract all the model files from the models.meg with a standard meg extractor, but there isnt any program that reads their .ALO filetype.

Arc9, you're quote on the bottom of your thread was said by Marc Antony, not Caesar. It was from William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar", but was not said by Caesar. If you are going to sound cool, at get your quotes right.

The Legacy of War Team are proud to announce that both the SSD and the Old Republic Rendili Dreadnaught will be released to download individually from http://www.eawnexus.com/) however for the moment you will all have to wait while they are fully prepared. They Will be released just before or just after V1 of Road To Victory occurs.

ANTONY
O, pardon me, thou bleeding piece of earth,
That I am meek and gentle with these butchers!
Thou art the ruins of the noblest man
That ever lived in the tide of times.
Woe to the hand that shed this costly blood!
Over thy wounds now do I prophesy,--
Which, like dumb mouths, do ope their ruby lips,
To beg the voice and utterance of my tongue--
A curse shall light upon the limbs of men;
Domestic fury and fierce civil strife
Shall cumber all the parts of Italy;
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

It was indeed Marc Antony who said that phrase.

He's saying they are going to make them but haven't yet. One other thing to keep in mind is that to make an SSD of the proper scale they would have to (1) Make the space map much bigger, or (2) make all the other ship models smaller, because a properly scaled SSD would fill a majority of the map by itself, and wouldn't be able to fit with the reinforcement area. The things are bloody enormous.

Yea... the size is the major concern I have too. I doubled the size of the Home One to actually match the background... it works, to a degree. That is already a huge ship and already has problems with pathing on some maps and it's still only about 1/3 of the SSD. Sizing all the other units down might help somewhat but then the fighters and corvettes would be awfully small and only be recognizable by their icon... not the best solution I think. The perfect solution would indeed be the resizing of the maps... not sure if that's even doable.

Long story short: I think the SSD has literally speaking no place in EAW.

in the movies,it looked like THIS: -=spaces

----------------------------------------##
--------------------------------------####
-----------------------------------########
-----------------------------###############
--------------------------##################
___________________######################_________ _____
l_________________________________________________ ____l######
--------------------------------------------------------------######
----#------#-------# ------#------#------#------#------#-------#
#### #### #### #### #### #### #### #### ####

----#
####=star destroyer

But its gonna be rescaled to THIS:

_____####____

Point solved...

Not sure what you want to tell us... but the issue with scaling is that the smaller units will have to be scaled down to mere dots on the map to keep the right scale... and all that for one craft. In all battles in which the SSD doesn't appear you will only fight with fighter icons and the only ships you really see are cruisers because they are still large enough to be distinguishable.

If this was to happen the Super star destroyer would be the size of a whole 17,000 star destroyers but with re-scaling you could make ith the size of 6 star destroyers

WTF?? SSDs are 8-9 times the size of ISDs. How the hell did you come up with 17000 Star Destroyers?? SSDs are 17-19kms long (8kms IMO but what the hey)

An SSD of the Executor class is 17.6 km long (17.650 meters, or 11 miles long).
An SD of the Imperator class is 1.6 km long (1.600 meters, or roughly 1 mile long).

My eyes must be tricking me, but please Fosh, say it ain't so, that you've been fooled by West End Games' ridiculously short 8km measure. Noooo, say it ain't soo. :D

The most modern and correct measurements stand at 19,000 meters, as cited by the ITW, the Vader guide, and TOS's databank.

Also, please be consistent in your punctuation. Either use a period (full stop) as a decimal point, or use a comma. Do not use a period for both a decimal point and a kilo-indicator. It'd make things more clear for us if we didn't know what you were talking about.

Remember that size is nothing. Dimensions can be easily modified via the <Scale_Factor> value. The real problem is to make a model that is realistic and detailed enough. That's hard!!!!

I know almost nothing about maps, except they are .ted files and there are two maps for each planet (one space map and one land map). You can extract them with ease, but I don't know how to open them. We'll have to wait for the official editor...

p.s When I mentioned size and scale I was referring about units and not maps. I don't know if there is an xml file with scale or dimensions values for maps.

Do we have any screenshots of the SSD? I downloaded the file, but I have the full version of the game (not demo) and Norton AntiVirus reported a DNS QuickSearch attack...

I'd like ot make sure this isn't just a normal SD with a few XML changes.

It is an ISD, just a lot larger.

THIS IS AN SSD!!

Maybe I should Say that this is a Sovereign Star Destroyer or Just a Sovereign. Please do not use the letters SSD when Describing it.

Why not? One of your modellers has on the picture :)

It's a Sovereign-class Super Star Destroyer, is it not?

When people refer to an "SSD", they should really call it an Executor-class Super Star Destroyer, which is what they usually mean by such a description.

Similarly, there's the Eclipse-class, Vengeance-class, etc.

Yes, and I believe the term 'Super Star Destroyer' is only Rebel slang anyway. The correct term is 'Star Dreadnought', but not many people seem to like using it around here lol. But yeah, anything larger than an Imperator II-class Star Destroyer that fulfils a battleship/battlecruiser sort of role is thrown in the SSD bracket.
