Ive downloaded a snow speeder opt from http://www.abstraction.com/derek2/) And it is pretty good. I Trying to get permission from that site to change the opt to include engine textures...yes i know it a land based thing and all of that, but we are flying in space here. Also would like to turn the tow hook and cable into a turret, this would make for a hardy little fighter.

Is anyone up for that challenge?
I dont have any opting programs or the skills yet... to do it.

Well, if you want a turret, you need to change it into a Transport, or a flybale cap ship, and the turret wont work correctly

Not true K_K.

All you need to do is enable the right things with BinHexEdit and make the turret a ROTGUNTURRET type mesh with 2 Rebel Lasers on it (all flyable ships with turrets use Rebel Lasers, I tried using Imperial but they changed to Rebel in-game).

I've made a Fighter (an ugly sucker but it works), it has 3 forward firing ImpLas, 2 forward firing IonCann, and a rear turret armed with 2 RebLas, you can use the 'F' key to tell the turret to fire at things, but you can't man it yourself because I dont have a seperate Opt for the turret.

TK, ok sounds cool so what do i do in Bin hex to make the turret work? What do i need to enable?

OK, you need BHE XWA202 ShipEdit v1.1

Here is the data to enter into the Slot which you have installed the SnowSpeeder into

Turret 1 Orient 1: 0
Turret 1 Orient 2: 180
Turret 1 Enable: 317
Turret 1 Arc 1: 16384
Turret 1 Arc 2: 16384

Note: This is data from my ship which has a Turret on the ass-end of the ship, facing outwards. Your turret is sitting on the back of the SnowSpeeder facing upwards, looking backwards. This means you may have to experiment with the Arc paramaters because thats what sets the firing zone for the turret.
