Wouldn't it be kinda neat if K3 had artifact items that you could use if you were able to successfully repair them. For example: "so-and-so's busted up uber blaster" that's currently unusable, but with a certain number of points in your repair...poof working blaster. Maybe even give a fail % to it to mix things up a bit.

Thoughts?

That would be neat. Wouldn't mind seeing it implemented, of course when the story/gameplay/etc. are all ironed out.

It sure is neat to have a thread thats not about adding FPS elements to the series. Cheers.

In my opinion, Repair was the most useless skill ever.
In the way you suggest, it wil be one of the coolest, and it could make sense.

or, you could use it to "heal" T3-M4 and HK-47.

Absolutely.
Even though I rarely use it, I wouldn't mind experimenting.

So you mean using the Repair skill to actually repair stuff? You are crazy. :)

Exactly, now hope that KotOR III's developers are looking here and coincidentially set sight on this thread, read it, implement the idea and add all our names in the credits.

Great Idea, BTW.

*Nods head in agreement* Yup Achilles that's a very sound idea. ;)

Though I personally think there should be a % Failure every time you attempt to build any of the complex armor/weapon items at the Workbench. Just to spice things up. :)

It sure is neat to have a thread thats not about adding FPS elements to the series. Cheers.
Ditto! :D

Yea thats a great idea it would actually get me to use the repair function. In tsl i never used items to make other items an i really didn't have to either, would be cool to find a special lightsabers an blasters etc that can be repaired an put to good use.

Yeah, like actually makinh your own custom hilt design etc.
I really don't like the tube-look of the standard ones...

That's a whole other can of worms. We won't see individual sabers until they ditch the ability to change colors at the work bench.

i liked the idea of repairing ancient items but i think what would be better is to have your items become decayed and busted up then use the repair skill to fix them and incorporate it into the D20 system so that you might fix it or you might not

Nice idea, Achilles.

One more thing that always bugged me was the Hawk being all busted and such throughout the game. In case you find yourself aboard the Hawk(if there's a part III it's most likely you will) I'd love to be able to gain repair skills throughout the game and bit by bit repair parts of the ship and maybe thus activate additional features, somewhat similar to the Repair HK47/T3-M4-quest in K2.

Good idea. A new way of utilizing the repair skill. I used repair only to fix T3 and HK and to be able to construct certain things. I would like to fix a blaster if it got busted.
