YOu need someone hooked up to your game pot, that is 2 butons and has 2 Axis

Gamepads could work, but you really should use a joystick to play XWA

I have a laptop that does not have a gameport. I can not hook a gamepad or joystick up to it.

I guess you're screwed then http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/frown.gif) However, I doubt XWA would work very well on a laptop anyway. On the other hand, you could get a USB joystick or something (assuming your laptop has a USB port). Trust me, though, this is not a game you want to play without a joystick. Good luck.

Hey is there any big reason that you should use a joystick next to a gamepad?

you have far better control with a Joystick. It makes leading targets very easy.
