Could someone come up with a skin for the Drexl? I added it to a module, only to find it bland and grey!

A while ago, Drazin made reskins of the Kotor 2 beasts: - there's one drexel skin in there -

The mod contains reskins of just about every beast in Kotor 2:

Boma\'s, Cannoks, Maalras, Zekkreg, Skyshak, Hssiss and Tukata\'s.

4 variations of Kinrath, 1 drexyl, 1 storm beast, 1 horned Kath hound and 1 Laigrek.

the ones on korriban?

There are no Drexl on Korriban, there is only one Drexl Larva in the Onderon Palace, electrocuting itself against the throne room force field.

However, the adult, full size Drexl is a lot bigger and has wings. There is a model for it in the game, but apparently no textures. It is not used anywhere in the standard game. Create a creature template using appearance type 517 (flying drexl) or 518 (even bigger one) and spawn it if you want to see it in its un-skinned glory. :)

I thought it was probably either something the Beast Riders rode, or something on Malachor....either way...

Is there any way to create a new skin without it being a complete shot in the dark?

if you are a really good skinner you could, then name it to whatever the skin name is within the model itself... or change the name within the model to whatever you name the new skin...
