To everyone who had questions and concerns regarding the games scale. Here is a question answered by someone who works on this game.

"In the E3 video, the scales look all wrong, and things were happening way to fast
The EaW that was shown at E3 was spcificly designed for E3. Ships were bigger for viewers, and battles accelerated so the viewer could get a basic showing of everything in the game. If u have seen earlier screenshots, u can see that the scales are far better."

Something I picked up from an interview over at Gamespot
GS = Gamespot JB = Joe Bostic

GS: One thing we're wondering about is whether the units are rendered to scale in the game. For example, did you modify unit sizes so that certain units look larger or smaller on the battlefield than they should to make them more clearly visible, or did you go for a 1:1 scale? It seems like space battles aren't to scale, since the fighters looked considerably larger than their counterparts in the movies.

JB: The sizes of units have been adjusted to lessen the extremes for visibility reasons. We are still adjusting sizes of some units, but they will be similar to that shown at E3. The game has almost every aspect controllable through text data files, so changing the scale is possible for the more adventurous technical players

I don't mind the scale issue. Ill go for clearly visible fighters over Star Wars correctness any day. Gameplay>Realism.

Dude you can fix the scale to your own liking: "The game has almost every aspect controllable through text data files, so changing the scale is possible for the more adventurous technical players"

Yeah I guess it's time I dig up that old book on how to use XML.... lol no It looks okay, I just hope they tweak it a little better, which apparently they say they will. Eversince the day I zoomed in on some units from C&C Generals and noticed the men were bigger than the tanks I've been super picky on scale.

Seriously, does it really matter that much? As long as AT-ATs are big enough, I'm happy.

Hear hear. As long as they are big enough. :)

But if the troops are half the AT-AT's size, it's pushing the treshold. :D

Don't forget Scale in Space, I do not want to see a Star Destroyer the size of a planet nor a Star Destroyer that's bigger than the Death Star.

Why clean it up?

Just stop arguing.

But all right then.

J, I see nothing wrong about Luke's post. All he was saying, does it really matter that much if the game isn't accuratly scaled in the end?
To this date, I don't know of any Star Wars game that has gotten the scaling right (that includes X-Wing: Alliance, though it's the closest one), and this game will be no different I'm sure. And do we really want the game to be to scale? If they were to scale it propperly, TIE's, X-Wings, and other fighter crafts would be just small black dots buzzing around most of the time.

And that's the end of that.
Resident Mod has spoken.
Heed my words. :)

As long as the scale isn't completely ridiculous like a rebel soldier in the same size as an AT-AT or bigger, i think it should be fine because as people have said Gameplay is more important than scale.

In Space it is always hard to get scale right as if you did it would compromise on game play. Many games shrink the size of planets so they don't take up to much of space. infact the only game that i know of which has gotten the size of planets right is EVE Online (An MMO) and in that you could fly strait through the planet as they weren't solid which allowed them to take up less memory on the hard drive.

Scaling them up is good and all, but I, for one, am certainly going to try playing with the scale to get it right. If I can select via area or hotkeyed groups, I'd love to have "little black dots buzzing around."

People are discussing the scale just because we all love debating and saying what we think lol. Just because we know they are fixing the scale, we still dont know as to how they will fix it.

I just hope it won't be like Homeworld 2 where a fighter is about the size of the bridge of a carrier.

If it's anything like Warlords (to HomeWorld 2), I'm going to be very satisfied. :)
