Do you guys think they'll release a demo? LEC usually does (or did), but Westwood usually didn't. I hope they have a teaser demo before it comes out, even if it's just one battle or something. I just want to know how the space combat and everything handles before buying

Sweet. I get annoyed when they release the demo AFTER it comes out, but a couple months before the game comes out sounds good, since then, usually, the only thing left to do is some final balancing issues, polishing it, and fixing bugs.

I think demo for GB demo was also released 2 or 3 months before the final release. Hey its only 4 months away, 120 (and some change :) )days, 2880 hours,172800 minutes... it'll be out before you can say cheese :)

Not really. Other games have come out with demos around 2 months or more prior to release. It's actually quite smart. It makes it so they can find out people's opinion, change some small things. Tweak it here and there. And of course, find out any graphic card issues they haven't found yet.

As a matter a fact i think (in most cases) this happens when RTS games are in question...
As far as i can remember all JediKnight demos (by RavenSoft) came after the final release.

However, the demo for Galactic Battlegrounds did more bad than good, I recall. This time though, the game doesn't appear to be too rushed and I am sure that petro are working their fingers to the bone.

Only a few weeks to max a moth IIRC, not that much. Demo is supposed to hype it up a bit before release. Though LEC does have a nasty habbit of releasing demo's after release date or never...

Yeah, the JK2 and JA demos came out really late, but GB, Outlaws, Grim Fandango, Escape from Monkey Island, etc. all had early demos

Im glad they are releasing a demo because westwood never really did release many demos. December does seem a little early to me but I mean the earlier the better, i dont mind.

I'm in 2 minds especially since AoE3's Demo left much to be desired, I'd hate to see an EaW demo underperform in all honesty.

In all honesty, even if the demo won't be too good, as long as it looks like in the trailers, I'll be more than happy. :)

I think the best time to release the demo is when the game goes gold, and there are no longer any bugs/imbalances/holes that aren't in the final game
