Segan Wyndh's Sabers Are Available!

This mod is my first attempt at modeling. Introducing my Segan Wyndh's Lightsaber mod!

HERE at NEXUS (http://www.nexusmods.com/kotor/mods/31)
HERE at Deadly Stream (http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/91-segan-wyndhs-longsabers/)
HERE at LucasFiles (http://www.lucasfiles.com/index.php?s=&action=file&id=938)
HERE at FileFront (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Segan_Wyndh_Sabers;66355)
HERE at my site (http://www.jumpstationz.com/games/mods/SeganSabers.htm)

Part of my expanding Segan "series", this lightsaber was by far one of the hardest things I've done. I can't thank you guys & gals here enough for all of your support & feedback. Thanks everyone, this wouldn't have been possible without you!

To show my thanks, I've also included "Alternate" Color Styles! If you're not very fond of my Revan Style blades (zig-zag hollow look), you can drag-n-drop these files instead to install the standard game colors. These colors also have their own crystal icon, so if you're feeling froggy...you can mix-n-match the styles (however you can't have all of both styles).

ie - zig zag blue/solid green/zig-zag yellow, etc. but NOT solid red/zig-zag red

Color Chart Values:
30 = Blue / 31 = Green / 32 = HotG / 33 = MotF /
34 = Red / 35 = Violet / 36 = Yellow

In addition, I've included Master "Hilt Skin" files, both in a layered Photoshop (psd) format & a Layered Tiff (.tif) file. So if you don't like my hilt skin, feel free to create your own! :)

Though cheats are very convenient, trust me when I say it would be worth your efforts to get them "naturally". When you visit Manaan, talk to the "Shady" Rodian in the East Central Area. Depending on what you've accomplished on Manaan, certain dialogue options will come available, and a 'favor' will be asked...

I will say it involves the Swoop Races, so if you're not too thrilled I strongly suggest visiting Darth333's site and downloading her Easy Swoop Racing mod. You can get it at either of these links:

http://www.geocities.com/d333mods/index.html)
http://www.pcgamemods.com/mod/5287.html)

Though I would suggest talking to him BEFORE going to the swoop races. It's not necessary, but the dialogue will make much more sense.
Not to mention all the headaches I caused around here getting the darn scripts in there! ;)

STATS:
------
+2 Attack
Keen
Massive Criticals - 1d6
Blaster Bolt Deflection +2
Upgradeable

** IMPORTANT, this mod utilizes an "upcrystals.2da" file. If you are using another mod that uses this file, DO NOT overwrite it with this one included! Some editing of your existing "upcrystals.2da" will be involved. HOWEVER, I've tried very hard to make mine compatible with popular saber mods. Below is a list of mods that my included "upcrystals.2da" will work with (safe to overwrite):

compatible saber mods:

-ChAiNz.2da's Longsaber Crystal Pack mod
-ChAiNz.2da's Revan's Items mod
-ChAiNz.2da's Revan's Longsaber mod

-T7's Lightsaber 6 Pack mod
-T7's Qui-Gon Lightsaber mod

-Seprithro's Weapon Pack mod

-RedHawke's Revan/Sith/Bastila Item Pack mod
-RedHawke's Revan The White/StarForge/Booster Pack1 mod

-RedHawke's & Maverick187's Lightsaber Pack mod

-Maverick187's Blade of Balance mod
-Maverick187's White Double-bladed Saber mod

- RedHawke - For explaining the ever "vicious cycles" of compiling scripts and their quirks.

You can download it at either pcgamemods or my site (links in my sig)

::EDIT::
I have also submitted a .zip version over at Lucasfiles.com (the only format they'll accept). So it should be available...whenever ;)
Plus I've got a direct download link in my 'comments' over at pcgamemods for a zipped version. Though I strongly urge you to get over your fears of .rar and get either WinRAR or StuffIT. Rar is by far superior to zip so don't be surprised if my future mods are released as such. :)

Now stop reading all this blahblah and go download it! hehe...

Looks really cool. You sure beat my crappy texturing skills. :emodanc:
I'd download it, but I'm not playing KOTOR at the moment.
<the usual question>
What's the polycount?

@Darth333
As the Southern term goes "you can take away my modding tools when you pry them from my cold, dead fingers"
hehe ;)
I'll probably play through TSL at least twice before attempting to mod it, but you can count on me to contribute to the community. :thumbsup:
I'm looking forward to all the possibilities and a "clean slate". I'm just happy I'll be able to catch this go-around (TSL) in it's beginning rather than coming late into the game ;)

@RedHawke
Thanks! It means alot coming from experienced modders such as yourself. Thank you BTW for your help on this one :D

@TemporaryTomato
Your skills are nothing to scoff at man, your textures are damn fine! But thank you for the compliments. :)

Hmm..polycount = 344
Extruding segments really saved my poly-load. The first one I "modeled" turned out over 4,000! :eek: I then thought it best to start reading the tutorials hehe ;)

I couldn't agree with this party more I actually logged onto PCGM before coming to the forums to check if it was there yet got my download started and now I'm here to pat you on the back. I must say that I am in total agreance with you on eagerly awaiting TSL so I can be on the ground floor as a modder and not at the end. Even if most of my skills will fall into the data modding type of mods.(*Darkkender can't texture or model*)

Thank you everyone for all the great feedback, here and at pcgamemods. It was a rough 3 weeks so in a 'twisted' way, I'm glad it's finally released (as I'm sure those who guided me through it are as well ;) ). Time for me to take some time off and play through KotOR one last time before TSL (wheeee)

@Darkkender
Thanks for the 'pat' man, you helped so you deserve one as well! *pat* hehe... and there isn't anything wrong with 'data' modding. From what I've learned here, there's a place for every aspect of modding (I still like .2da's best personally)... ;)

@T7nowhere
You mean I have to top it? :eek: why don't people tell me these things before I start them?! :fist: hehehe

@maverick187
3weeks, 10hours, 12minutes and 37sec. give or take a millisecond (oh...and add about 30 pots of coffee to that) ;) Thanks for downloading it! BTW, when I was making the compatible upcrystals.2da I saw your double-blade white saber, it's in my override as we speak, sweet mod!

@kampher
Good luck! It's a bit harder than what I was used to, but it's very rewarding when you finally see your PC wielding it and hacking down the masses with it ;) I look forward to your release (and let us know how it's coming along) :)

Thanks, I assure you it didn't take nearly as long as your mod, I'd say it took about 30 minutes to a hour.... LOL, but believe it or not I only did it to answer a request from someone else, glad to here that more than one person likes it...lol. I just got KotOR to work on my computer again, so I'll be checking out your mod soon and once again awesome job, and who knows if I have the time maybe I'll make a few more mods, but I think I am just going to learn how to model, and save 'em for TSL.

I know how this feels myself... :fist: How do I top a new planet?

We'll just have to wait for TSL and then just go to town. :D

Just FYI, the .zip file version is up at LucasFiles.com (http://www.lucasfiles.com/).

HOLY CRAP!! that was fast!... sorry... it's usually a week wait for me.. heh got a little excited ;)

The .zip version is much larger (6.08mb) because:
1) It's a .zip file & not a .rar :rolleyes:

2) Lucasfiles asks you to pack the screenshots you want posted on their site WITH your mod. Apparently, they leave them in there as well. So the extra weight is just screenshots :rolleyes:

3) BUT it's a .zip file for those still waining away from the .rar "experience" ;)
