Afraid not! Ships like the Missilebt, shuttle and Gunboat cannot open their s-foils if you fly from the hanger. They have not been programmed to operate their s-foils.

Well, K, uhm, actually no, that wont work...

go here:
http://swssg.jedicore.net)

Then go to the forum and see yourself. Though just to give you an idea, the XWA Upgrade Project wants to redo most (maybe all) opts used in XWA and make them better. Some of the opts are already finished and we are close to giving out the Rebel Fighters patch, and trust me, once you see THOSE opt you don't wanna play with the old stupid TG opts anymore!!!

Uh, actually I doubt the game will run very well without a 3D Accelerator, the models that are going to be implemented will all have pretty darn high face counts...

How the hell can you play anything without an accelarator?
But dont buy a geforce/athlon combo like me, cos they really dont get along very well.
And while im complaining, what the heck is there to do in a TPM flight sim, youve got a whole, um, 5 ships.
And finally, I take it this XWA patch is not official?
Right, enough moaning for today.

Actually, Herman, many games now give the option to play with hardware or software acceleration. There ARE those of us that can't afford fancy Athlons and stuff, although, software acceleration takes a lot more CPU power. SEcondly, I don't recall anyone saying anything about a EP 1 Flight sim, and finally, there are two "official" patches for XWA, but the "NCA patch" is user created.

So is the XWA Upgrade Patch!
It might not be official, but man, once it's done it's going to rock!!!

Here one little example of what they did with the models:

Okay, I did the pic for a black background, so please excuse the quality. (Well, and the big dl)

Force, tell me one thing... How high will be the poly count on those models? It won't crash my XWA or go at 2SPF(Seconds per frame http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/wink.gif), will it?

Actually, I dunno. We haven't run many system tests with the new models, yet. But it seems the game still runs okay on most machienes. Once the Rebel Fighter patch is done we'll know more. (And it really seems like we are getting closer to that...)
