The Story: (http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/news/story.jsp?idq=/ff/story/0001%2F20041211%2F1411276394.htm&sc=1110)

if god realy DID told him to do it, It wouldn't surprise me none. God told abraham to kill his son Iasac. maybe HE didnt get the "stop I was only testing" part. or maybie the guy was just nuts.

What cuases people to become psycotic? A chemical imbalance in their brains?

Read and discuss.

God didn't tell that kid to do anything. That kid was just insane.

He even says it was an emotional response because his parents were scolding him, and then he has the audacity to say that God told him to.

I can't understand the mind of a killer :(

That is disgusting.

Looks like someone has anger management problems.

That is really sad, I hope that the kid gets better, he is clearly in need of help. It's sad when a mental disorder is not noticed untill too late as in this case.

I don't suggest they let him back into sociaty, just that he is ill and should be treated as such.

If there were a reliable treatment beyond the usual drugging, I too would wish to see the lad treated. But since there isn't a cure for what ails him... Hmm. I dunno. I've always promised myself that if I ever go insane... then realise that I'm insane, I'll provide myself with a grand exit from the world. ;)

Problem being that very typically those who are insane do not, and have no way of knowing if they are insane.

I've read some interesting interviews with nutters, in which they admit to intellectually knowing that they're insane. The knowledge doesn't make them any saner, but hey.

I'd personally check myself into a nice cozy white padded room.

And I really doubt God told a kid to kill his parents...

Of course. This is pending the police investigation where they find Grand Theft Auto in the kid's PS2 and complaints from angry parents fly in.

I hope the video game arguments dont come up again.

There were violence and insanity before video games were invented. They cannot be the cuase of violence. Period.
