Heya folks :D

As a couple of you know, I've been working on a walkthrough for Dark Forces. I know what you're thinking - there are tons of walkthroughs around for a ten year old game. This is true, but I did have my reasons.

I bought the PS1 version off Ebay recently for my 9 year old nephew. He loves JO and JA but hasn't played any of Kyles earlier adventures. So I'm round there and I get a shout of "can you help me with the game?" So I go up and guide him through the first level. Then he starts asking me about the second level and it occurred to me that I couldn't remember :p Worse still, I had the same attention span 10 years ago that he's got now, and I think I originally gave up on the game at level 4.

So, I went looking on t'internet for a walkthrough to print out for him. The problem I found was they were either too complex for him to get (like the ones with the list of co-ordinates) or they tended to skip over large chunks with a phrase like "find the blue key up on the next level". So I played through the game (yes, using a walkthrough :p ) and wrote a new walkthrough as I went along. I played it through on the PS1 version too, to check that it's easy enough to do. And the result... is right here (http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/btamonday/misc/df_walkthru.pdf). It's an Adobe Acrobat file so you'll need the reader (http://www.download.com/Adobe-Acrobat-Reader/3000-2378_4-10253179.html?tag=lst-0-2).

I printed out a couple, made a transparency cover and wire-bound them (one for him, one for me):

So, yeah. Lemme know what ya think anyways!

Yeah, I did actually :blush2:
Got to know the levels pretty well, too. If I can get my TV-Out to work with the damn DOS-Shell, I want to do a speed-run of it.

hope someone do a DF campaign in EaW:FoC, that would be great. we have all the necesary there, Kyle, the Darktroopers, and the Ark Hammer.

By the way...well this is not the place to ask this, but I'll do it anyway, do any of you knows if the new Darktrooper figure that will be released by hasbro is a new one, or just a repack of the old one.

Well, i remember some time ago someone tried to port DF in to JA or something, and obviously the guy becoimes a lazy bum and project never finishes.

I think someone did port DF into that oW like starwars game, is that Galactic Battlground?

Now someone should be ready to port it onto Unleshed.

You mean this mod here? http://darkforces.jediknight.net/index2.shtml)
You'll be interested to note that the "lazy bums" are making slow but steady progress. :) Two fantastic demos already done, a third on the way.

That's a shot taken in Modview of the Kyle model used in the first DF Demo (for Jedi Outcast), available at the link above. They did make a JO/Multiplayer version of the Kyle model, but it's not on the site for download any more (I've got it though, I'll post it if the guys making the mod will let me)

In case you hadn't guessed, I can highly recommend both the JO and JA demos! Hell, yeah.
