Proposed banning solution

Due to the fairly long list of ip`s currently banned, several innocent people have been affected as well.

I`m thinking of unbanning all of the ip addresses and trying out a new policy.

The new policy would leave it up to the users of these forums to police it to an extent.
In other words how /when people are removed from the forums would be up to you to stand up for yourselves and not let people come here and post crap .

How would it work , well nothing special needs to be done unless ,someone comes on the forums and starts flaming people or what ever just to be an "a__hole". One of the admins will post the persons IP and a contact email address, probably a few other details such as links to the offending posts, date ,times.

I Can work out some specifics and post them here if there is enough interest.

Then you the users just need to in your own words send a complaint email to the address.
Normally this works out quite well as most Isp`s won`t put up with that sort of behaviour, if nothing happens then we will ban the ip. Either way we`ll still close out the thread.

Before i unban the IPs though i want to see how many people would be interested in doing it this way, remember it`s in your best interest to keep these clowns at bay, the next one just may be sharing an ip with you,and you could be getting the banned message yourself next time for no fault of your own.

So lets see some interest in your own welfares and your right to have a good atmosphere for posting in with out the jerks wrecking it. A simple yeah or something in reply will do.

Sounds interesting Stealth. We could try it, and us mods and admins could always step in if anyone starts abusing the system.
