Hi Gold squad leader how is that arm?

It is doing well as can be with four steel spikes sticking in it for the External Fixator, which is a traction device that holds the wrist in place instead of a cast. It uses the pull of the ligaments to keep the bone fragments in the proper position, have to have it for six weeks. Hurts some still, taking Percocet as needed for pain. I go back to the doctor next Tuesday to get the stitches taken out and the traction eased a little. The bad part will be when he removes the metal screws in six weeks by backing them out with an electric drill, without any anesthesia! Big time OUCH!

So, how long did it take you to just type that with one hand?

You don't want to know, probably twenty minutes at least with my left hand. I know I'm slow but it's getting better with practice.

I took shrapnel in my right wrist while rescuing my wingman from a half dozen tie interceptors on his tail. He is a good pilot, we were just heavily outnumbered as usual. We barely got away, some others didn't. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/frown.gif)

P.S. - Actually crushed it with a nasty fall while playing volleyball. Boy did it hurt. One surgery so far. Worst part, I'm right handed.

Sorry to hear that Sky Master. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/frown.gif) You were lucky, that is a mere annoyance compared to what happened to me though. I crushed my right wrist on Oct. 1st and will be lucky if I can hold joystick well enough to play RS again by Christmas! Major pain with major rehab ahead to get my wrist working again. So sad I would cry if not for the fact that it could be much worse. Much, much worse.

Fate has captured you to! I am the only one left! What is happening!
(Fate almost had me today with my thumb. It was slammed against a metal surface. It's okay, just swollen and needs ice.)

Oh good grief, cut it out. Wait till you get your arm crushed like me or cut off like Luke before whining about your wounds. If it doesn't keep you from flying, then it is merely a flesh wound. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif)

BTW, I finally get my wrist out of traction this Friday, 6.5 weeks after the big fall. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif) If rehab goes well, I hope to be flying again by December! I think I'll go to Tatooine and fly through Beggar's canyon for practice, then drop in Mos Eisley and harass the local pirates. See you soon Rogues!

hey gold squadron leader, was it you who emailed me? about bombing moff seerdon's shuttle? Why don't you get a steering wheel for your nintnedo 64, then you could fly, but use the pedals for shooting, and the steering wheel for turning. what a great idea!!! I tried it before, the only thing is, it's extremely hard on the index finger trying to make the ship pitch up and down.

Welcome back Gold Leader. I can't wait until you can start flying again. But life still can't be that bad can it?

Rogue 15, no that was not me who emailed you. And I have PC version not N64, so no steering wheel for me. I might ask for a track ball mouse for Christmas if it easier on my wrist. I'll to go to computer store and try some out to see what feels best. But I plan to still play RS with my joystick.

Master, life is not all that bad. A couple of weeks ago the orthopedic Surgeon eased the traction off a little so I can know move my fingers normally, almost. Nothing like a mini rack on your wrist to stretch it out bit, eh? http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/eek.gif) Talk to ya'll soon. Take care. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif)

No, it is not hard typing, just very slow hunt and peck with left hand mainly. I have started to use my right hand more since it doesn't hurt anymore, but with the traction device immobilizing my wrist completely I cannot position it comfortably to use all fingers. I only use one finger. Yes that finger, but only because it works best at the fixed angle I'm forced to use. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif)

Talk again real soon, bye!
