Thought we should move this to a new topic and not spam up the other thread any more

Jedi Malak has armor models? I know that you can equip armor, but the model doesn't change, right?

Yeah the model stays the same , he can just equip armours in the armour spot now.

ALso just for the hell of it i modifed Yuthura so she can wear armours and robes now aswell instead of just her Sith training outfit when you recruit her via the recruit Yuthura mod.

Thanks for clarifying; I'd thought that I missed something :(
Well we could make himw ear different skins for the different levels of armour ie the class 4 , 5 6 etc ... IDEA! I never put full bodied mando armour on him to try it out and see if he changes , Im assuming he would.

If your interested ill take a look in to modifying the model etc so different colour skins can be used for the different armour classes.

Currently having Cerasumet try ut a shiney texture on to my malak/big z skin file right now so if that works we could then start doing different skins.

His line in Appearance.2da is N_JediMalek across the board. This means that you could put Bastila's underwear on him and his appearance would never change.

We could try making differents colors/textures for his default skin, but I'm going to leave that to people with better PS skills than my own :D

Please feel free to prove me wrong, but I'm almost positive that unless bioware built "Jedi Malak with armor models", changing the name isn't going to work.

I was only able to find one Jedi Malak model and it's the one that you see in game. :D

Again, it looks like our options are going to be limited to skins, although we are going to have to hex edit models for each of the skins that we want to use (pain in the @$$!) :)

Let me know what you want to do.

Thats what i mean , different skins for Jedi malak model representing different cvlasses of armour , and hacking the mdl files take less then 5 minutes for several of them , I did the gloves im making in less then 5 mins and there were 6 of those.

Gotcha now.

..and yes the hex edits do go quickly, but they are still a pain in the butt (to me anyway :p)

I cheat and do "Save as" when finishing each hex edit rather then copying each MDL then chaing each one. Saves a lot of time. And thankfully F3 works as a "find next entry" shortcut for the hex editor i have so i just hit that , make a change , hit it again.

The next step once we could make the changes (and that would be simple enough) would be deciding colour schemes for each armour class.

I've found that Replace All works pretty quickly too. I just don't like being in there. Makes me nervous...kinda like playing in the registry :(

Please let me know what color schema you'd like to use and I'll see what I can do in PS.

I love playing in the registry, its fun to rip half the crap out you dont need.

My normal jedi malk skin is red and black (and now shiny!) so so things like blue , gold , yellow that sort of thing would be good for the different armour classes.

Jackel, since no one else appears to be interested in participating (i.e. only you and I are discussing this), we should probably take this to PM. If someone else shows interest later, we can bring the discussion back to the forum.

To be honest Achilles this interests me alot. Someone tried to help me make Jedi Malek a selectable character but it didn't go very well, then my harddrive crashed and I just didn't bother to try it again. Now I'm running again and have a new copy of Photoshop7 and if you guys want any help I'm willing to do what I can to help.
