Best part was the second level when you got the shotgun. Played that part over and over so many times :D

Definitely. Though, my favourite gun was the sniper rifle. So handy, yet so cheap. :p

Since the new Xbox 360 Backwards compatibility update (http://kotaku.com/gaming/backward-compatibility/xbox-360-bc-update-jsrf-%252B-pdo--omg-253729.php) came out, I decided to get some games on that list.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Tie23/Games/537421_front.jpg)
$8 used - I used to have this game but traded it away. Very fun game, but I never did beat the last boss.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Tie23/Games/914949_front.jpg)
$5 used - I bought this game awhile ago but it didn't work on my Xbox for some reason, it couldn't read the disc even though it was new back then.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Tie23/Games/Mercbox.jpg)
$12 used - yet another game I used to own and traded away- one of my worst mistakes, it was one of my favorite games.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Tie23/Games/Unreal20Championship20220XBOX.jpg)
$5 used - I got this because it was cheap, and that my dad loves anything Unreal. I wanted to get this when it first came out, but never really decided to go all out.

And I almost forgot, got this two days ago...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Tie23/Games/3.jpg)
$30 new (I had a $20 giftcard) - Bongobob told me about this game, telling me it was "Nintendo Certified Crack" or something but kinda just blew it off. But when one of my friends in 3D modeling class comes in with it on his DS, I decide to get it. Very fun game. Also, the song on the story about the "Fallen hero Baseball player" is a song I've probably heard 400 times... and I don't even know the name of it- it played on repeat all day when me and my friends were digging our cave in my back yard in California... good times- good times...

PS: Before you all go, "AH, gamer whore!" All of these cost me about $40, price of one game, one of the $5 Xbox games were free because of "Buy two get one free" at Gamestop.

First impressions?

Some of Trent's best writing ever. He's ditched self pity for social commentary and it's working really well. You can tell that Trent is not as depressed as he has been in the past. Each song on this album is a unique portrait by itself. I can't really compare this to past works, but I can say that Trent has finally found himself in his music, and it keeps getting better with each release.

Oh yeah, and this album is totally worth buying. ;)

Mercenaries is BC now? Didn't know that. I liked it, but it got kind of boring for me for some reason, but I did like all of the humor in it. For example when you play as the mohawk guy, he says something really funny "I like that General. The stick up his butt, has a stick up it's butt!" -one of the best lines ever. Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict was one of my favorite games of 2005, if that's BC now, i'll gladly buy another copy and play online with ya on that one. I only traded it in before because it was not BC at the time. Damn good game!

Yeah, right now I'm getting to know Mercenaries again. On the 360 is has a few confusing (but totally ignorable) problems. The game has crashed on me 2 or 3 times in 4 hours of playing and the radar map will turn blue in certain areas when in a car. Other than that it's fine.

I haven't been able to play too much UC2 but I almost shat myself when I saw that they had Morbias as a map - my favorite map from Unreal when I was 8 years old. :p

Also, yeah. Mattias is cool, though I should try the other two to see how they're like.

I'll pick up a copy of UC2 tomorrow. I should be able to get on Monday at some point, but if not, I definitely got some vacation coming the first week of May. I think I have a strat guide laying around here somewhere for the finishing moves. I'll definitely have to learn all the moves all over again. PM me when you want to play a match.

Edit: Hot damn hallelujah! They got Spider-Man2, Republic Commando, and Return to Wolfenstein on there now! Looks like I might have to do a buy 2 get one tomorrow!

I spent some birthday money and put it all on a new compy:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
• 250GB hard drive
• Built-in 802.11gb wireless
• NVidia GeForce 6150 LE
• 1GB of DDR2 memory
• Burns DVDs and CDs
• Windows Vista Home Premium

Nothing fancy, and I HATE Vista, but I am dealing with it. The old Compy was dying fast. It was an HP also, and I got 5 wonderful years out of it.

I barely game anymore on the PC and all I do is cruise the internet and stuff...

I don't game on the PC anymore either. The 360 has replaced most of the gaming in my life. I do miss some of those RTS games I used to play though. Just for the hell of it, I decided to try to install Serious Sam 2 on this new compy, and I will be damned if it STILL doesn't run right. I mean it runs, but the background images clip so bad, I can't see what's coming. That game is two years old, and I am convinced it is a system hog. Bottom line, I don't trust PC games anymore. You take a horrible chance when you buy one, that it might not run. At least with consoles, at most you MAY need an occasional patch or update, but you don't have to drop over $500 on a graphics card.

To stay on topic, I got these today:

I looked at hundreds of mice today, and got this one, not because it was cheaper, but because of the position of the buttons, and comfort. One thing I always liked about my microsoft intellimouse was the side flippers for back and forward buttons on my browser.

This may get me austrisized from the community, but what ever. I absolutely HATE Guitar Hero. I don't get it. I have seen countless people having gobs of fun with it on the interactives in my store, so when it came out for 360, I grabbed one. All I have discovered about this game, is that I am no Guitar God, in fact I am not even a peasant. I have no rythm/hand/eye coordination what so ever. So...after several attempts, I traded that bad boy in, along with my old 20GB hard drive (replaced with the uber cool 120GB hard drive), and a hand full of games and controllers I had laying around. I made about $158, so I traded it in towards something smaller:

I never in a million years thought I would own a DS but times change, and I have played both of these games, and you have to be dead to not have fun playing them!

Uh oh, you're one step away turning into those old men who try to defile and belittle any sort of entertainment or innovation that can confuse them and doesn't bring an instant feeling of nostalgia for those better days when men were men, women were women, and guitars were actually guitars.

I'm just saying, you probably should've kept Guitar Hero anyway and practiced, since you obviously lacked all the skills to play it.

(Not that I play it, though. I have an actual guitar, and being able to play an actual guitar is infinitely better and cooler than having a fake plastic one that only lets you play the notes some programmer wants you to.)

It's not painfully far away. You just need to suck it up and get used to it. And it's not like you're going to immediately get the hang of it. It took me at least 2 or 3 days of sucking til I got used to it. Now I can play the songs on hard and some on expert.

Btw, Frets On Fire is not easier than Guitar Hero by much, as yesterday at best buy I was kickin ass on both the PS2 and 360 versions of GH2. Got 5 stars on Sweet Child O' Mine on hard on my first try.

That's only because it a matinйe. If I were to go to an evening show, it would cost $11. :dozey: Too expensive in my opinion for the theatre I am going to. If I were to go to the nice theatres that have awesome seating and bigger screens and theatre space, it would cost me $10.95. For IMAX, it's only $3 more at $13.95, but those theatres are too far away for me to get to.

Man, the the super nice "expensive" theater around here maxes out at $9.50 for the late shows and about 6 or 7 for the matinйes. Nova theaters, where most students go, is $6 after dinner and $4 for the matinйe. Plus, at Nova, popcorn and pop is just an extra dollar when you buy your ticket :D

Advance Wars was tons of fun on the GBA, but I warn you, I really like puppies.

Age of Empires is good, but it IS different from the PC RTS game we have come to know. The difficulty I am having with both AOE and AWDS, is that neither game came with an instruction booklet, and I have to admit that the control scheme on AWDS is a bit overwhelming at first. AOE is not to difficult to figure out. Resident Evil....well it's got everything that the PSONE version came with and I have fond memories of getting aggravated with that one. All of these games I had my eye on when they launched and finally got them now that I own a DS.

Well first of all let me say that I LOVE strategy games. I love them to death, I really really do. Ever since my introduction to them with Galactic Battlegrounds many years ago. Been hooked ever since. Age of Empires was not at all hard to pick up on. All of the technologies are there, as well as the different ages up to the Feudal Age. I spent many hours earlier this evening on one particular map. Then once I beat that, I moved over to AWDS. I can say I finally got the hang of it. Graphics wise, it doesn't look terribly different from the GBA version. I DID take me some time to get used to the "dual strike" part of the game where you go, and then the other CO goes...provided your other CO is not a scatterbrain. The only trouble I had on AWDS is that the DS battery died in the middle of a pretty intense and heavy map. Which is sad considering I must have played THAT long...but I always do on strategy games. That kind of sucked. I wasn't winning, but I had a good chance at turning the odds. Both games absolutely rule.

It's addicting as hell though, so I keep coming back for more :D

Ordered this to replace my uber ****ty 1.7ghz Pentium 4 rig that's 5 years old.

http://www.woot.com/Blog/BlogEntry.aspx?BlogEntryId=2363)

I think it's a pretty great deal. I'll install my copy of Vista on dis sucka (and see if it's worth keeping it on). The CPU is pretty average, 1 gig is average, too. And I'm not going to be playing games on this thing anyway. So as long as it doesn't catch fire when I plug it in it should be fine right after I delete all the trial software off it.

I think this will count as my largest purchase... ever... $365....
