This takes place after the first Death Star is blown to peices. So you're probably not going to see it or the Executor

The Executor is currently in orbit above the Imperial Retreat on Naboo.

I'm on Naboo now, and I can't see any Executor-Class Super Star Destroyer orbiting the planet.

Define "first" and "second" movie.

In any event, Episode I is 10 years before Episode II, and Episode IV is 3 years before Episode V.

Doesn't mean there were no SSDs during ep4. Let's not forget by Ep6 there wrre "lots of command ships" according to Han...

I haven't been to the imperial retreat in a while, but I thought the trio in orbit were an SSD flanked by SDs.

Edited to add: Oh look, this is the post that makes me a wampa. *runs off to kill and eat a cu pa ingame*

Vader ordered the construction of the first Executor-Class shortly after Yavin so it wouldn't take long before we see them ingame I hope. :)

But most likely it would only be one if they added it, and it would be the Executor herself.

I'm sure there are at least a couple Super Star Destroyers even though we cannot see them. I believe I read somewhere in one of the NJO books that there were four SSDs total before the Second Death Star was blown up. Only two of which are named: The Executor which was Vader's command ship, and the Lusankya (sp?).

Oh, there were more than four most likely, don't forget the vastness of the Galactic Empire. :)

Just between the start of production on the Imperator-Class to the rebirth of the Emperor 6 years after RotJ, over 20,000 ISD mk-I was built. Don't know how many of the mk-II was built though. And that's just one class of star destroyer. You still have the Victory-Class mk-I and mk-II, Imperator-Class mk-II, Allegiance-Class, Sovereign Class, Executor-Class, and the Eclipse-Class.

even though this was over the course of 6 years past RotJ, there is bound to have been built more than 4 SSD's of the Executor-Class before the second Death Star blew up.

Known named Executor-Class ships before the Battle of Endor:
Executor
Terror
Guardian
Vengeance
Aggressor
Iron Fist
Lusankya

That's 7 just there. NJO haven't done it's research I guess. :)

Total known named ships before and after RotJ is:
Executor
Reaper
Terror
Guardian
Vengeance
Aggressor
Iron Fist
Lusankya
Knight Hammer
Intimidator
Razor Kiss

I don't think that is the complete list though, because there are several pages long list of names on different star destroyer classes I would have to go thru in order to filter them out.
I haven't gone over it in awhile.

Check out this site for all, or atleast most of the names used on different star destroyer classes in Star Wars: The Complete List of Star Destroyer Names (http://www.hyperjump.net/swguides/sdguide/sdguide.html)

For you boneheads here, the 4 Super Star Destroyers(including the Executor) were finished just prior to Empire . I believe Han engaged in battle to sabotage the Executor in a mission. A Rebel pilot(Jan Dodonna's son, Vrad Dodonna) died destroying the shield generators on it,slowing down the time it took to make it. That I know for sure. So it wouldn't be in-game till timeline advances to ESB and we know they won't advance the timeline(for fear of having to go post-ROTJ where they think the Empire somehow became less powerful).

As for the Death Star, it couldn't be in orbit around Endor. If it could obviously be seen by so many people, then the Rebels would've sent countless numbers of sabotage teams and fleets to destroy it(or its shield generator). So logically it can't be there.

But then again the first Death Star took 20 years to build, yet this new Death Star took less than 4 years(1/5 the time of the first one) and it was 40km bigger and quite a bit more powerful. The only guess I have is that by the time the Death Star II is being built, construction methods & speeds had increased. That and the Empire is at its might and has lots more resources than around the time of ROTS.
So that's a big NO to either being in JTLS.

Hmmm, I seem to remember Jan Dodonna chose to stay behind on Yavin IV and activate the self-destruct mechanism, because the probability of surviving was slim. Part of the reason was because he had just lost his son. That would effectively place the Executor shortly after the Battle of Yavin.

Let me look that one up ......

EDIT: Yes, although not quite the way I said it, he did remain on Yavin IV to blow up the base. This was before a full year had passed after the Death Star was destroyed, during the evacuation of Yavin IV. That's 2 years prior to Hoth.

The Executor was launched some time between 6 months after B.B.Y. and the evacuation took place.

Vrad Dodonna died after the ship was finished. The Executor suffered damage to it's shield systems which had to undergo repairs before it was brought into action against the rebels at Yavin IV. It also suffered engine damage from a blast from the Millinuim Falcon after Han picked up Luke on the astroid Vrad had left him on. Vrad tried to defect, but came under fire from the Executor who was hunting him and Luke. Realising he couldn't escape he turned around and flew straight into the Executor. This alone is not enough to take down the Executors shields of course, but on the tip of his ship I believe he had an ancient artifact of tremendous power. The Executor commander had to rearrange it's rear shields forward in order to take the blow. Vrad almost succeeded in taking it out. Meanwhile, the Falcon had slipped unoticed up on them from behind and crippled it's unprotected engines system somehow. I forget how. :)

I think it would be very cool if the themepark in space for the imperials took place in or around the construction of the Executor... And the Reb could be helping the Rebels get off of Yavin, flying escort etc... Does anyone even know if there will be another rebel/imperial theme park in space or just new missions?

Since everybody is so "a-tuned" to the movies.
Does that mean that it is now 1 year and 5 months after the destruction of the Death Star? (1year, 5 months is how long game has been live)

I hope the time ingame is also shifted forward to see more stuff...IE Hoth planet in expansion, Bespin able to be visited, ..etc.
Cause I am getting bored stuck in same time "ingame" these days. If ya know what I mean.

Well, if you go by the ingame time, it's gone well over 7 years now. :D

Which fits well with the rampant Jedi all over the galaxy and no sign of the Emperor or Vader doing anything about it.

From the Lucasarts JTLS site regarding the Endor space sector:
A remote, mysterious system of which little is known. The Empire has seen fit to restrict travel to this zone... but no one really knows why. If you venture there, be careful! Whether or not you'll be able to go there and see the :deathii: being built is something we obviously won't know for sure until we play the game.

As far as the Executor (or other SSDs) go, the SW.com databank maintains that This vessel led the Imperial Death Squadron after the Battle of Yavin. and adds in the EU section of the entryOnce leaving dry-dock at Fondor, the Executor destroyed the Rebel outpost at Laakteen Depot. The warship then set forth to Yavin 4, where the Rebels were in the midst of a rushed evacuation. So I think that, given the timeline of SWG there is a possibility of seeing both. I'd like to think so: coming out of an asteroid field in XW:A and seeing the Executor was one of the best things about that game.

and since anyone of you has replied the first question.

YES, there is a SuperStar Destroyer in JtLS, but not the DeathStar as far as i know (or think)

I have some nice screenshots of the SSD i will have to wait few weeks to post as soon as the NDA is no more.

Not sure if they still have that area open since it was opened only for testing something for lke 5 days.

How big was it? :)

8km or 12km? :D

And that is not dangerous to say as everyone knows it's atleast 12.8km according to StarWars.Com, and 17.6km (roughly) according to the movies. :p

well I had zoomed all the view so it was like 30 cms in my monitor :D

I didn't set a WP to the where it started to check how long it was, first because I was just a passenger in the ship and second because we were in combat, i was only enjoying the view but still we were in combat, so I dependend on the pilot.

Wow, that's a pretty sweet pic. Although, it might just be the level of detail, but the Star Destroyer looks a lot smaller than I imagined it would. But it's probably hard to tell the scale since there aren't any other ships in the scene to compare it to. But neat nonetheless.

well it does look smaller because it was taken far far far far far far away to get the whole SSD.

hmmm let me do another try...

Uhm, sweety, that's not an SSD, that's an ISD. :)

More spesific, an Imperator-Class Mk I Star Destroyer. :)

It's extremely detailed, and apart from the use of the targeting array (between the 2 domes) from the ISD Mk II, it's dead on. :) Even got all 4 Dual Barreled Heavy Turbo Lasers Cannon Turrets and the 2 Dual Barreled Heavy Ion Cannon Turrets. :D
