Hey I was looking for a good modeling program and I don't know what to use. I downloaded the Half-Life 2 version of Softimage by mistake thinking that it could work for Jedi Academy. Could it? Or should I look for something better? Any suggestions?

you could try Milkshape 3D, it's shareware:
http://www.milkshape3d.com/)

There is also GMax available for free,
but all the other good tools are very costly.

If Milkshape if shareware, why does it cost $25?

You could probably get better answers in the JA Modeling forum. :)

Its best to have something that supports, the skin modifier, as well as md3 and xsi import/export. GLM is also nice.
