Dragon Ball Z Mod for JA

This is an announcement looking for staff for a game modification of Jedi Academy based on the hit Anime property of Dragon Ball Z, tentatively called Dragonball Z - Saiyan Ascension. We are currently in the process of accepting applications for staff. You must be hard working and ready to fill in deadlines. We want this mod to be as professional as possible. YOu must have the propper equipment to do your job.

Currently, we are looking for all available positions of:

1-2 Coders - 1 Lead Coder and an Assistant Coder

Must have experience working on the code from JK3 or any other quake 3 based game and must show an example of work. Must be willing to constant learn and try new things.

1-2 Sound Artists

Need easy access to sounds from the DBZ show. Must have decent sound recording programs and software. No prior experience needed, but prefered.

1-4 Modelers

Must have experience working on models from JK3 or any other quake 3 based game and must show an example of work.

1-4 Skinners

Must have experience working on model skins from JK3 or any other quake 3 based game.

1-4 Mappers

Must have experience working on Maps found in quake 3 or any other game using the same engine (JA). Must show examples of work.

1 2d Artist

No Prior Experience Need, but must show an example of work.

We are currently NOT looking for Beta Testers. All beta Testing Positions will be filled by other staff members and will be chosen on behavior on our future forums.

We will also be opening a website soon with details about the mod, which can temporarily be found at http://dbja.dragonballtoptier.com) , opening on the 28th of this month.

This mod's approach will be different then the other DBZ mods. First, JK3 has a built in challange system, when tinkered out, could mean tremendous things and freedom for DBZ. Also, it has the best graphics capablities then any other Quake 3 engine.

The engine also has the force power system, which can be use for many great things for a dbz mod, and allows customizable character fighting techniques.

Of course we plan on Bendy beams and power struggles, as now DBZ mod would be complete without them, but we also will have an Advanced Melee system that's easy to learn and hard to master. The goal of the melee systme is to look like a dbz fight, and feel like your playing the show. It will have the rapid fast movements where you'll be able to control them at lightning spped, yet with only a few keys.

Finishing moves and combos are also planned, but will be discussed with the coder.

Also, did you ever notice that fights in all the dbz games/mods tend to be way shorter compared to the fights in the show, where some of them span 6 or more episodes whereas in the game you last 45-60 seconds? Well the other goal is to have a system where players can take lots of hits, and I mean LOTS of hits.

Another feature I want to have for the mod is monthly game updates. After the alpha build is finished 100% we will go into the beta stages and allow open playtesting of the game to everyone. Every month, we all will collaborate and gather everything we have created recently and add it to the beta and the plan is to have an auto updater that will automatically detect if your copy of the mod has the latest version.

More details will be planned and announced when the time comes.

If you are interested in joining the team, post a reply to this topic, or send an email to jarrstin@hotmail.com with the interested postion you are applying for and any examples of previous work, either attached, or with a web link.
