Helloha!

This can be a thread where we can post shots of the upcoming SW OT DVD

As we know the quality of DVD is amazing and seeing as tho Lucas is putting all the vids through THX optimization we will see great shots, just perfect for making sigs and stuff with.

I dont have any pics as yet, but if anyone does please post them here.

someone take a screenshot of a vid clip from Rebel Strike just to make this guy happy for the moment at least lol.

The only way you're gonna really experience the DVD goodness is if you see it on DVD with a good player and a good tv and a THX certified sound system. Pictures don't do it justice *nods*

still, the clips from rebel strike still looked better than the vhs versions of the original trilogy.

that's cause they used divx encoding on the vid clips, it was near dvd quality but it was basically just the old special edition clips, nothing was touched up to look absolutely perfect in dvd form.

The footage in Rogue Leader is from the Laser Disc - there is no DVD footage out there yet.

Click and drag the link to your address bar below to see the DVD packaging from the OT Trilogy. They were taken at a toy fair in Europe when they shouldn't have been. Tsk. ;)

No the Rebel Strike footage is from the Special Edition masters directly from LucasFilm which was then cut and editted to fit the game scenes which was done frame by frame and then encoded into divx video

Those DVD covers suck @$$. If you're going to put the SW trilogy on DVD yourself (and especially if you're gonna sell 'em illegally) at least put the right poster on ESB. Isn't that the 'Revenge' of the Jedi poster?

Those were concepts for the boxes and they were taken at a toy fair, they're not pirates and they're not for sale. And I agree, the box art does suck. They should just stick with the special edition poster art work. But being concepts they'll change them anyway - its just to show that they'll come in proper boxes with a gold or silver motif like the videos did.

Gah... I can't believe them. Making people pay to see the products the company is selling to those very same people. Pretty sweet scam they have going there. :(

Here's the box art:

I like it (apart from Luke's six pack). It's much better than the other rubbish that was posted. It definately has more of a classic feel to it.

i've been thinking (dangerous i know) but whats da point of buying the OT on DVD when after EpIII is released they'll just bring out a new box set with both the OT and PT on it. i just think it's kinda pointless buying it now.

but the box desgins do look pretty cool though

Same point of me owning both the regular AND extended editions of Lord of the Rings on DVD. The regular came out first and I wanted it damnit!

plus its not guaranteed that the ones we'll be getting in 2005 will be the same as the ones were getting this year. even the ones this year have added changes and the 2005 ones could be those "ultra" editions that GL has been rumored to want.

*Just before Christmas Ian came into Soho, London to do some ADR for the newly replaced/made scene in ESB. They have ILM'd the antechamber so it's bigger and the whole scene has been reshot (not the Vader close ups) plus a couple of tiny dialogue changes made. Nothing earth-shattering. *

I like the box art for both the fullscreen and widescreen editions of the original star wars trilogy coming out in September 21. I hope they do change some of the effects. Especially obi-wan's lightsaber. I like the added scene with Jabba and Boba Fett in episode IV. I mean you have to admit it is good for special effects of the mid 1990's.
