Can anyone point me to a good tortorial for the total noob on skinning. Mainly worried about skinning lightsabers at the moment. Sence that is as far as I have gotten. I can get them in game easy just with no textures.

If only skinning were for dummies (sigh)... The link is a page to Paul Jaquays modeling resources, you should be able to find something to help you out.

Try this one

http://www.studio-erebus.com/studio/tutorials/2003/uvw/dice/uvw-dice.html)

It will teach you some basics but it's not the best method unless you're making a crate md3.

This one is for a saber

Here's a "skinning for dummies" tutorial one I wrote for Jedi Outcast. It should also work just fine for Jedi Academy.

I have found that is is often easier to modify existing textures and applying them to different models. There are plenty of textures that come with the game that can be used. Remember, if you want to use ones from custom models, be sure to get permission first...
