Bored? Play the SUPER COOL MUSIC GAME. Simply download this (http://thrik.dodnetwork.com/mg/mg.zip) zip file (1.7mb) and listen to the eight tiny mp3 files inside. Then post what game you think each music file is from! Instant fun!! Post the location/scene where it's played too for even more geeky respect from your peers.

Edit: Game over - if you desire you can download the zip and play it by yourself.. just highlight below for the answers. Also, if anybody wants full versions of any of the samples just ask.

Well, #3 is from TEH GRIM BLANDANGO. Obviously. From Maximino's Office, I think.

#6 is the Worm Song, from Worms (CD-ROM edition)

OK, I lose :(

Hee, yeah I think putting Grim in there was a bit too obvious. Oh well :P

Excellent! Nice to see that the more retro classics aren't being forgotten.

1 Has to be: Conkers Bad Fur Day (or some other banjo kazooie / donkey kong game)

And 7 is blatantly: Lemmings

Hehe.

Anyone want to have a more specific guess at #1? You're close Tonesy.

#1 has to be Banjo-Kazooie then, because it sounds fairy-tale-ish and could probably accompany Grunty in some way.

#5 is from the sneaking around bits in Broken Sword 3, specifically the castle in Prague. #2 sounds familiar too. :~

Hee, it's Banjo-Tooie but it uses a distorted version of the Banjo-Kazooie theme so you get the points.

I'm afraid you're wrong about BS3. ;)

#2 is one that will be notoriously familiar to those that played the game, but because it's a small part of the soundtrack it's hard to think what.

I do understand that (2) is quite a tricky one as it's a game most people have (or should have!) played, but the music only plays for a very short time during the game.

I've included another short clip from the same track for those that are totally stuck here (http://thrik.dodnetwork.com/mg/2extended.mp3). This might make some people go "OH!!", or not. Weep. ;~

Uhh... the only thing I can think of is BS 1, where they blow up the castle at the end.

Hee, everyone's pretty much stumped I think. I've now edited in the full answers to each sample in the first post, so if you give up just check it out there. :¬:

Number 2 is so easy!

I was going to post much earlier, but I didn't know how to do the "spoiler" text so I held off.

Nonetheless, it's Flight of the Zinger (Hornet Hole) from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Definitely one of the best tunes in the game.

Yay!

It is indeed one of the best, although DKC2's soundtrack in general is excellent.
